Perhaps somewhat related to her studies, is the profession of her character Abby Sciuto on the TV series NCIS a TV series based on the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, as Abby is an eccentric forensic scientist. She appeared as a waitress at Cafe Nervosa in Frasier during season 4, and later guest starred in Season One of 24.
