(Born Nov. 22, 1940) Terrence Gilliam is an American-born British writer, filmmaker, animator and member of the Monty Python comedy troupe. Gilliam is also known for directing several well-regarded films including Brazil (1985), Twelve Monkeys (1995), and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998). He is the only "Python" not born in Britain, but gained British citizenship in 1968.
