Mixed media portrait of the great, talented genius, Davy Jones! First I sketched it in HB pencil, then inked over most of it with a black marker pen; and then I used watercolor pencils and went over it with a wet brush; and finally I decided to paint over the watercolors with thin coats of oil paint, using a dry brush technique. The portrait is on cardboard. It took me six hours to complete.
Aww, thanks so much, sweet Jeanette!!! Yes, Davy was/is a very magical man of great talent with such a beautiful voice and charm. I was just talking about Davy a short while ago, showing my friend this portrait. My plan from the beginning has been to do many portraits of Davy. I shall do more, and I thank you kindly for reminding me with your loving compliments, my dear friend. My blessings to you and your awesome family, Jeanette, and my blessings to Davy and his family as well!!!!!!!
You have my deepest appreciation, Jeanette!! I send my love and appreciation to your husband in Spirit as well. True, may they both rest in peace, indeed. They live in Divine Love.
Always and forever, Jeanette!!! You're very welcome, and I thank you as well for your true friendship!!! Moreso than putting up my art, I REALLY joined this site to enjoy communing with compassionate Souls such as yourself. Be Well.
Thanks, Laulau!!! YES, I thought the same thing! They did look quite a bit alike in the Sixties. He was a member of the band, The Monkees, which was inspired by The Beatles, and his group wore haircuts like the Beatles. They even had their own TV show (which I used to watch reruns of as a kid in the late '80s on Nickelodeon), and were very popular, especially with teenage girls, like the Beatles were.

You are very kind. Davy was too young to die, like my husband. May they both rest in peace.
