An ACEO/PSC miniature portrait of actor Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, from the tv series Spartacus. yeah ! the costumes were gorgeous (except for the naked slaves... ) I loved the armors, the ladies hair and jewellery, and I also love drawing flods (I don't know if it's the proper word, in french there is specific word for this in art : a "drapé"). I'll probably draw her one day.
Just a shame about the excessive nudity, sex & violence really. Fair enough, you expect some, but sometimes it's a bit overdone. Similar to Game of Thrones - they don't need quite so much of it!
I agree, I love those serie because I'm fond of ancient times (do you say Antiquity ? in franch antiquité but I'm afrais this may mean ancient object in english) and fantasy sotries but some scenes are too much for me and I can't stand them (torture espacially) so I have to look away and wait for them to end...
yep, antiquity can be both (your English is a million times better than my French!), and you only have to read some history to see our ancestors really were pretty awful at times, but even so, some of it is definitely gratuitous by the programme makers! still better than soap operas though
it would have been perfect with a bit less of blood and sex anyway, much better than usual soaps... it's not that easy to make something smart and new with old myths, we had a quite good french serie about Ulysse's return but the audience wasn't great, here a few pictures and videos if you want to have a look http://www.arte.tv/fr/ulysse-alessio-boni/7549184,CmC=7548830.html I liked the idea of the hero tortured by a veteran syndrome (hope you'll see what I mean, not sure of the translation)
Thanks for the link, it looks good. The UK's Channel4 recently showed "Les Revenants" with subtitles (which I really enjoyed) and which was popular so maybe they'll try a few other French series too now they realise we can actually read and watch at the same time. This would be a good one to try for sure.
well you were luckier than me, I wish I could see this serie because it was on a pay channel (is this correct?) so we couldn't watch it, the teasings were great... I've once heard one of the serie maker on the radio and he said that he was also inspired by twin peaks, I do love this serie.
Yes, I know the feeling about pay channels! And that's interesting about Twin Peaks - it reminded me alot of that with its low-key, mysterious atmosphere. It was very good.

wow ! I love it, perfect "domina" ! the light, the details in her hair and clothes, everything is great ! this could be your next POD

thanks - I think credit has to go to the show's wig-makers - the hair's the reason I wanted to draw this!
