Correction: The movie, Dr. Zhivago came out in 1965, not 1968. Also, neglected to fill in half of Lara's neck with skin tones. I am sorry for these errors. The hour is late. Yes, Dr. Zhivago is one of my favorite movies, along with Lawrence of Arabia.
Thank you, Nihale, for your praise. The last time I counted, I had watched Dr. Zhivago 8 times. I even had it all on tape, but recently threw the tapes out. I plan to buy it on a DVD, soon.
The photography is gorgeous and the music is stirring. The characters are supurb in their parts. The story grabs your attention right from the beginning. It is also sad, in places, so be prepared if you do watch it. I hope you can translate what I have said.
Thanks, Shahin. Your words are like arrows, flying straight to my heart. I took a little more time with this one. I think my choice of blue colored Bristol paper for the background, helped, also.
Yes, very well put, Shahin. I do remember those winter scenes in the movie, vividly; but I also remember the scene where Yuri (Zhivago) looks out an icy window, and sees some yellow daffodils poking through the snow.
Yes, that farewell scene between Lara and Yuri is in my memory, also. Yuri, racing up several flights of stairs so he could look out of a window, and watch Lara and Komarovski (Rod Steiger) as their horse drawn rig faided in the distance.
Thank you, Jeanette. Your encouragement has helped me. My mother was an artist with pastels, but I never tried to use them. I don't think I will, either. I am busy enough drawing with the graphite pencils, and now the colored pencils.

Sorry, my reply went to the wrong area, so I copoed and pasted it here. (above)
I remember the camera focusing upon Julie, as Lara, when she questionly looked up to see Yuri (Omar) in the village's library. She couldn't believe her eyes, that it really was him.
And i can still hear Lara's theme in my mind! Will never forget it! i was a small girl when i heard about Dr Zhivago the first time and Lara's Song had me right then and there!
Спасибо! Мой муж и я ел в ресторане вечером, потому что сегодня (14 сентября наша свадьба 53-летний юбилей. Они были хорошими годами. Я надеюсь, мы будем иметь еще более лет вместе.
Thanks, Helen. I was pleased with how this one turned out, also. I didn't choose to draw Julie's clothing in the colors that they were in the movie, though. Blue reminds me more ot the cold, winter scenes in the movie, Dr. Zhivago.
Woow! Incredible! The capture of the typical expression of Julie Christie is excellent! Los colores maravillosos! Exactos!
Seguir estudiando, querido amigo. La educación es muy importante.
