Thank you kindly Jeanzy! I'm glad if you're intrigued, but it's only all about my 'need-for-speed.' I get a bigger charge out of serendipity than studied photo copying. PLUS I just can't do it!! So, it works out well for me!
I totally catch your drift!!! When I look through the general gallery on this site - it's the simplistic creations that are most appealing to the eye. The "photocopies" become somewhat mundane.
I successfully completed what I set out to do this weekend - I shall submit my mini-series tomorrow. (A bit of self-indulgence I'm afraid, but please bring it in your heart to forgive me for that - if you actually do get to come across them). AND ... I finished my "Peanut" for you - it's in colour, I'm as proud as punch with it - it's my own little Mona Lisa.
Hello Jeanz! How'd things go for you today? Some of these folks can lay it down just like it is though! Can't they?! Yourself included right up there with the best. The best ones, I've noticed, say they took 50 hours. Or 4 months. I saw the Mona Lisa once. It looks like it took four months. A feeling does come over you. Even in public. AND as to "Peanut,"I'M REPORTING YOU! YOU STUMPED GOOGLE® ! 1st time I've seen that happen! So. I'm officially reporting it. Google™ has contests to see if anyone can type something that delivers zero results from their search engine. Therefore, I'm really flattered that you would do colour portrait of Peanut for me.
I am in total awe of some of the people here. I went to an art competition exhibition last year and was in raptures about one entry. I overheard someone nearby say "...it's all a matter of patience ..." (earth angels sending messages to me ) Do you have any idea of how difficult it is to train yourself to be patient??? I am so touched by your compliment John ... (there comes that surprising sweetness again ) ... The peanut enigma shall be resolved tomorrow. . It was great fun, I promise you.
yeah, patience. I did 4 mos. - 6 mos. on a painting. revisions - details - 8 hours seems to be my limit on a pencil drawing - tho' I did color a few of those digitally - one took like a week! I either have to be getting paid or else have an idea to convey. I can't wait to see you convey this Peanut thing --- have a feeling -- well...
bring it on!
wow ... that's the gift of dedication 4-6 mos. That's like half an age ... Speaking of patience - I hope it has paid off. I have opened the "Peanut" gallery - you don't have to comment on my cute li'l piccy - you do have to go and look for it though. I put the web address ( ??) where you can go to one of my favourite snippets of the sweet-"Pea" on Utube. I always split sides when I watch his DVDs.
U-Tube search turned up Jeff Dunham (ventriloquist) & the long-awaited, highly-touted, most-elusive, chartreuse-haired ... PEANUT! S'gotta be the one right? I know him!! Name just didn't ring a bell. Funny!!!!! The portrait is not up yet.
... and I'm fast running out of patience. (oh, what the heck - all in its own time!) Chartreuse (I think Phoebe came up with that once). Did you watch the little purple dude in action? Tell me JohnO - Do you ever watch "The IT Crowd"? It's British and it's the most hilarious show to ever hit the big screen. (Not the giant screen - the every day HD big screen TV). I always thought your American sitcoms outdid the Brits but I'm afraid this betters anything, anywhere, anyplace, anytime!!! Only really good thing worth watching at the mo. Ta tah!!!
Now I don't think we're on the same page anymore - again. Is it the Dubham dummy? Bet you can't ask yourself that 5 times fast. Thing I saw was never purple. Couple of years ago on Letterman, he was light colored, pink, mauve, lilac, something. Thing I saw had chartreuse hair. (Isn't that the toxic-waste, day-glo-neon-bright acid yellow green?) And I haven't seen The It Crowd. Thanks for the tip. Dunham dummy. Dunham dummy. Dunham dummy. Dunham dummy. Dunham dummy. Cant even read it.
We're always on the same page but never in the same sentence. Dunham!!! - I done-him and I done-him good!!!! Not Dubham, dumbass!!! Okay what's light purple then - lilac, I suppose? Jacaranda coloured nuthead, with bright neon-green highlights.! Anyway, my creation (which is really pretty fine by my standards) came out more pink than lilac-purple. Purple Peanut rolls better off the tongue than "light coloured, pink, mauve, lilac, something" does. I'm heavy into alliteration so Dunham Dummy rolled nicely ... but only twice then my tongue got twisted in my teeth and they fell out (only kidding ) I think the mediator mense (afrikaans for people) are miffed at my mini-materpiece. If they don't put it on tonight I shall start to make complaining noices. ... It's not "The It Crowd" ... It's "The IT Crowd" (there's a difference you know). Ta Tah ...
Yep. Nope. Really? Typo.
Yep. Yep. Really? Indeed. I see. Really? No way! & I knew it. If it's a star or thing that's new, there's tons work to do. & I got "IT" ~ Thank you.
A year ago, Christopher Reeve as Superman was admissible. Superman per se was not. I think "Gollum" broke the 'reality' barrier. Then, all hell broke loose with characters, animals, puppets. Can't wait to see your post!
... well you're definitely going to have to wait!!! I don't have the remotest idea why they wouldn't put it on unless they thought it was a photograph of the puppet thing since it looked so damn realistic ( like hell!!!???) When you've got nothing to say do you just copy random shit out of magazine articles ??? Nah, the whole of "Lord of the Rings" broke the 'reality' barrier (divine expression!!!) - Gollum was just the final straw. I submitted my last 2 thingies on site as well - I won't be in the least bit surprised if they don't come up though. (DON'T look for them you DON'T want to see them!!!!) Since it's now a quarter to four in the morning I guess I should try and catch some zzzz's before the sun comes up! sleep tite dude
