Thank you I like your Elfen Lied I started for may years at about 8 drawing comic book characters of course in my day Manga was not the In tyle but American DC. They are great as they teach form, likeness and colour tonal work. Keep going I also Like the Bart types to. Brian my work was for 40 years very illustrative in style only now I'm entring the world of non cartoon art. If I can help you I will with no strings. I love advising and giving secrets of watercolour away. Brian.
very very beautiful
really detailed eyes and teeth look great too , skin tone and lights are excellent
she seems quite surprised , but at the same time when i look only her eyes there is sadness , but i think i am wrong
Thank you, Eyes 'the windows of the soul' one of the first things I paint aways inside to outside so them, lips and nose first! if the look good I carry on.
yeah, they are, and it is a pleasure to draw them, i could try that order, too. (i usually start with the outline of the face and it is wrong evey time )
Ok how I do it! is not the only way? but it is my way. I first do a sketch with a soluble pencil drawing the outline in simple form there are probable 3 layers of paint then a first light blue or light purple layer This makes the depth and shadow better then the middle layers picking up the main colours in a lighter searching layer. Finally the most colourful layer this can be the most complicated or simple layer! With her above it was simple. The order I talked about was the way I avoid leaving marks and over painting. The outline of the face is the most important and you must at first take care to get it right but the drawing you do must be simple no fancy shading or filling in black areas. Leave it like a paint by numbers looking paper of course with out the numbers You decide on the numbers. Each person does watercolour painting their own way? No way is right or wrong training and teaching is great but perception and seeing things is un-teachable.

Some artist’s do it different to me. but as can be seen from my work! My way works and can be refined to near perfect portraits. Leaving the painter to be able to play, put in emotion with and construct different paintings to a new level. I have shown underwater paintings, water falling and the delicate emotion of a girl crying with tears. I would have like to have trained at Art school! but instead I choose a life time of learning and learnt about earning money, bringing up children and being married. My one regret is to have not painted earlier, Drawing is wonderful draw was I thought incredible to learn but to painting is even beyond that. I look at every thing as a portrait now every photo or scene and of course it all such FUN and gives a return un matched by any other hobby I get relaxation and feel great after painting. I'm sorry this is long for an answer I don't mean to bore you. Brian
no, you can never bore me what i mean is that some people start with an eye and then develop other features and the outline of the face comes in the end. it is easier for me that way because it is easier to position the face after you have other reference points (of course, it is necessary to mark where the face is, but i make the final outline after i´ve done everything else)...sometimes it is interesting to try new ways so i might try yours. sadly, i´m not on good terms with watercolours so i can´t try the colouring well, we learn each day and some interesting piece of advice is always welcome. hope i´m not boring, either
