Very good, the attempt is good. It should be about framing a face with a very light drawing the left cheek side should have been more about impessionisum Eye are very, very good the hand is not needed as you show no facial changes because it's there. As you can see I always have comments I commment not to flatter but try to help. I never say something is good when it is not. You have talent but need a few small technique changes try looking at the work as shadows or light rather than a face. to help with this I always advise the use of background shading it helps with making the light areas look lighter and also the mobile phone scamera have not so much white to focus so bringing more true light into the portrait. Scanning is the best as you get near perfect portraits. The photo does nothing for your work.

We all like to have positives about our work. You show excellent talent but like all things from riding a bike to driving a car their are skills and techniques to learn. I have drawn and painted all my life, not for others I don't care what people think of my work but it is a good feeling to have positive feed back like you say. The only thing I advise is not to be your own critic, as you only feel the work and normally we are to hard on our selves. I have learnt through all my 50 years of drawing and painting, I never give up and have painted every thing from rain, snow and underwater. I was not given them, I learnt it! . Your work reminds me of my work in the 80's when I was a very good artist but amazingly I keep improving I moved from drawing to pastel work and to acrylics then watercolour. I have painted with Oils and still attend art club in my area to learn things, so when looking at my work please remember it a life time of learning. Brian.
