You are improving, don't get discouraged. Find something that you feel needs work and do just those. For example Lips, or Shading. I have been doing this for years and I still get down sometimes, but you have Talent.

thank u so much.i'll try my best to draw better next time.and u know what i hate shading the portrait because its very boring and difficult as well.so i am always in a hurry to complete my portrait by shading it roughly

Hi Perrie.I like her eyes, nose and hair.Probably her lips are to big, making her face to long.Talent is always present, but needs to be developed. You learn to draw by drawing.Have a nice day ,dear!       :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

i have a question :laugh:can u please tell me the different pencils used for shading face and hair like (hb,2b or........................),thanks

All my drawings are made with a 2b pencil.Never use hb which is too thin and sharp. For shading is 2b also convenient.Sketch aspot on a face and wipe it and form it with your finger. No lines should be visible anymore. You will get dirty fingers however! ;xD  :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

thank u so much for the reply it helped me a lot from today i'll also use 2b.btw u onl use 2b no other pencil??

Formerly I used 3b,4,5 and 6b.Since a long time not anymore. With a2b pencil you can make drawings dark enough and they stay cleaner. :cute: :cute:

just because i want to become artist like u so i'll also use 2b from today onwards :xp: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Using only one pencil for a drawing keeps the tone equal.4 5 and 6b easily break while drawing. The paintings btw in my gallery were all drawn with 2b first and then painted.Just try first and maybe later you might like the darker and softer pencils better. :cute: :cute: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

yeah u are absolutely right before i used to draw only with hb and now i'll draw with 2b as u told me :cute: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

hb is good for cartoons and writing letters,I think....You don't seem to have problems with proportions in your drawings. There is a method however that can give you very exact proportions in your portraits.Therefor you need transparant paper and a drawer with indication of centimeters and/or inches plus some explanation what to do with it.Only if you want to. :-? :-? :-? :-?   :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

i am having some problems with proportions :/.and i need explanation with it andi dont know where i can get it :( :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

gerardvankleef
gerardvankleef - il y a 6 ans

OK,if you can make photocopies or prints of the images you want to draw;you don't need transparant paper. It's for protecting the original photo.Tomorrow I will write you how to do it.  :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

i'll make photocopies of the picture i want to draw.ok take your time u can write the explanation any day any time   :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Divide a photocopy in equal squares(like on a chessboard) with your drawer.Try it out first with not too many squares for example 4x4 =16.Then do the same onyour drawing paper but this time with bigger equal squares.Important draw the lines very thin. They need to be erased fully invisible later. Then indicate in the squares positions of profileline of the head and then nose ,eyes and lips. You'll get good proportions.Exercise it first with anything available :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

i'll try to do this and i am sure that it will work and i'll get the exact proportions because u explained it very well.i cant thank u : :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

gerardvankleef
gerardvankleef - il y a 6 ans

The more squares you draw the better proportions become. But it is a whole lot of work to make a profile drawing and count squares. Not adviceable and boring.Your own personal art and characteristics remain major important so keep also always drawing in your own style.

to be honest i am not using proportions while making portraits i directly start with making eyes or lips or nose.because i find it really boring and time consuming.but thanks a lot for the help :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:.and giving me ur important time :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

If you make mistakes erase it and use kneading eraser .It can be easily bended and formed and is very convenient for eyehairs, eyelids, lips and so on.Cheap and everywhere available.Make your drawings first very lightly(easy to erase)and when ready you you can make it darker.I am very very curious to see your next one!!

i am having kneaded eraser but i dont know how to us it but now u told me so i'll try to bend the eraser and use it for detailing .i use to make drawing lighter first and than darker.i am trying to draw will smith next hope u like it i'll submit it today or tomorrow :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Now don't rush your drawing,Perrie. The longer it takes the better it gets we hope.Analyze it critically and improve what you think is wrong. It doesn't matter if you take acouple of days for a drawing. :cute: :cute: :xp: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

ok as u wish ;)i'll never rush in my drawings and i'll try to make i as good as possible.before i used to complete my drawing within 2 or 3 hours and submit it on sp no matter how it looks like :xp:.but now i'll not do so and try to improve myself whether it takes me 2 or 3 days to complete my drawing :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:.thanks a lot for ur kind advise love :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:
