During the fourth Visual Arts course I drew a white gypsum replica of the world famous bust of Nefertiti on a black paper using nothing else than a white Lyra Super Ferby pencil.

The technique which I used in order to get the right proportions is called “The Thumb Method” which is quite often used by many artists.

The white drawing on the black paper somehow creates an effect of something similar to the so called inverted effect, especially the high contrast and the intensity of the white colour on the black paper.
