Myra it is mostly done by hand. I scanned my watercolor and did some minor works in Photoshop. It is a sample of my traditional watercolor. As you can see I know how to paint by hand and real brush.
no doubt!!! I am sure about your skills!! but I was waiting to see ur real painting...It seems that the background is done with photoshop, ain't it? why don't u use real watercolors mostly? I know that digital painting is faster, but real painting is more original and difficult?
I do all of my commercial graphic works in computer programs. My portraits are created as a hobby beside them and also in digital forms. Unfortunately I have not enough time for traditional painting. If I prepare my work in old way and by real brush I can send only one portrait per year (he,he,..).
If those great masters of the past had our facilities, the history of the art was entirely a different thing. John, I recreated the famous painting of Vermeer, the girl with pearl earring. I will send it to you besides the original painting. It is a new interpretation of an old master in digital era! A tribute to his work. I hope you like it.
