Thank you I seem to travel between one style and another now dark and light, I'm thinking of doing a complete wash painting but I'm still planning it in my head.
Thank you, Although I've summerised other painting I hav'nt done it with this one. It's a stright forward one apart from the eyes and lips, apart from the intense colours I built up layers and waited in between for them to dry. Although I did not stiple with a sponge I have a small brush cut of for this technique, it is a bit time consuming, but a nice effect. I used it mainly on the eyelids but a small few dabs on the lips lower and upper. I also used up the last of the rude red poster paint mix, I used on Brad's face on hers.
Thank you, youv'e picked out the only thing I have not explained. I notice in the original photo that the eyelashes had a lot of light on them, so put a little more black top eyelid in than normal, so like could paint white eye lashes. I now use a very good white that covers with out blending in, but in the past I have used acrylic as the first thick coat then W/C white. I''ve also tried without suscess leaving out or masking paint so the white paper shows like the books say, but it makes it look flat and has no depth.
thank you, it does get a little difficult in looking for poses and sbjects but I've had a few request and I'm working on them. Saying that they must be different no repeating eyes just for the easyness.
Thank you, When you look at a painting you see what I see, I see a strong woman. I've painted very soft paintings lately, but I liked the photo, so I tried to recreate the strong make up look! Although they look great their all simple techniques and skill anyone can learn. The main thing is seting out the likeness.
Thank you, I've painted a likeness that s not perfect, I've let you the veiwer see things in it that I take for granted. Its just blocks of colour to me and because, I know how to pleased the viewer I put in areas of interest. I hope I've not been to honest. Again thank you.
Actually, I'd say that she looks like more Mila Jovovich (who you appreciate from what I've read throughout your gallery) than Kate Moss, but the portrait remains very beautiful!!
i first looked at this painting a couple of months ago, and it has stayed in my mind ever since so thought i should post a comment! i love the colours.
