Thank you, it would have been no good if it hadn't looked like the her completely I started this time with a w/colour pencil sketch because although it looks easy I new that the dimensions of the face had to be perfect so I scanned it in at the drawing stage to check before continuing with paint. Then I painted an acrylic wash layer just black, flesh and red. Then an ordinary w/colour layer and then a Acrylic white highlight shinning areas, stars rain etc. To get the tongue and bottom of the lip, to look a little different I put a Gouache layer on them. All told a lot of paint and for me 3 hours each for the Madonna and this one.
Sorry, about the long answer, I like to give a breakdown of how at least once per comment.
Thank you at present I'm on holiday, but when I return in 2 weeks I would be happy to pass on any techniques I have. But all the techniques in the world can't replace the hard work of practice, perseverance and patience.
Thank you it's a lesson in 'I could ' twelve months ago I wouldn't even have drawn it, now I just find they paint themselves. At the moment I'm not planning anything, I have one or two to finish to day. I had three days away so far and I'm home just for 3 days then I'm away again for 8 days. So I'm just finishing the couple I've started.
Thank you, I can see from your first drawing you like to draw I like to paint. Nothing to me is unpaintable this is and Iconic poster I wanted it in my work so I painted it my only rgret is I did not do it step by step to show the work process. I enjoy watercolour because it is difficult to learn but once learnt they become easier. My favourite thing is when people think it must be done by a machine for me ART is about originality, technique and likeness and this is attained by the hard work of practice, perseverance and patience.
