Yes, he showed us grotesque aspects of modern world. I think visual fascination of this work is due to tight connection between face and the background. As if he appears from a flat surrounding and stares at us with his sharp eyes!

Persepolis is a subject of inspiration for Iranian intellectuals. We use its architectural elements and also we use imitation of its relief and statues for decoration. Nowadays they are very popular!
While most of the others are smoothly gorgeous, this one is in a league of its own. Great textures and a really good decision to have the vignette approach.
