Thank you I like this one myself, I painted them together trying to get a difference between them so if I was to have a feeling of wanting to over paint I did it with the other (colourful) one.
Thank you, a time consuming painting it took me a bout a day on and off. I painted it with a light touch no heavy painting just very light colours. The effect is made by under washing the hair with the dirty water. The subtle use of flesh tone made extra white. But for me is was not what I painted but where I didn't paint, as the lightness is tricking the eye. I am pleased with it as again it is better as a painting that as a web photo.
Thank you, Very, very light paint work a dirty water under wash under the hair and the flesh tone is mixed with white, it is not unlike a painting i did of Scarlet Johansson. The eyes are normally painted, the eye make up is lightly blotted with a tissue and the same with the lips. I love the light I brought through with no paint on the left side just with using a shadow line. This is the painting I most like of all my work so far as it was such a subtle effect. I know we should not praise our own work.
it's interesting to draw few different portraits of the same person.. and the soft one is awesome do you paint people from photos or for example, you plan a different angle of view ?
Thank you, numbers, numbers I cann't help if I paint so quickly I try to slow down but the paper just calls paint me. I love it. Perhaps, that's it because I love it it get easier. Well it's more lightly to be me making up for the 50years of practice.

I think your English is very good better than my English Grammer. Although I speak English I'm Welsh and we the Welsh have many other names for things some a part of thre langauage and some Pet Whegish (Welsh and English) anmes for things.

Thank you, that sadness is in the song and video Warick Ave, were she gets quite upset. I'm very pleased if I managed to capture that emotion of heartbreak.

Fundamentals of drawing. I have visited your gallery and seen your Dragon Ball portrait, all drawing is about conveying the drawing to others the scan or photo does not allow your work to be seen. Do another drawing slightly more heaver pencil or rescan/ photo of the Dragon Ball one in again darker, as it can't be seen very well. After this come back to my gallery make a comment and I will have a look and pass on some tips.
Try doing another first, say a favourite pop singer or cartoon character. A new one would be best, If you can't draw it completely then trace an image onto paper and draw over the traced lines and shade the result then when it's done put it on.
Thank you, when putting this painting on one comment was about the blurry nature of the portrait, For me it was all about softness and atmoshere and not a cold sharpe reproduction of her. I took this look from a lot of different photos and the vidio where she sung Warick Avenue. This was more from the inner me than the perfectionist.
Thank you, painted whilst listening to Warick Avenue at full blast it was a scene from her vidoe I stopped at this point before she cried in the car. I made a sketch and a colur sketch then married the two together also I had a poor photo of her on the CD cover. I like it because I think it has a little tear on it, OK I'm a big softy but I liove her voice her amy winehouse and adelle are my favourite artist of 07 to now! I love soul or blues singers.
Thank you, Like most of my Duffy paintings they are difficult because when I started drawing her there were almost no good photo's of her so I have use a little imagination when doing this You most go for softer less edged painting more impressionist style. I love her she is such a brilliant singer that I want the whole world to know and she does not look to shabby.
Yes, she is and I enjoy painting her so much that my problem is wanting to paint her all the time. I have to paint others to improve my technique. Practice and patience.
