Very good, close to being a painting a very good likeness and a nice soft pair of eyes, also the facial structure shading is excellent.

thank you! i really focused on the eyes. they bring out the emotion in the center of the portrait! the shading took a long time too

If I was going to do the same thing with the emotion, I would have the eyes just a little lower. Excellent reflection in the right eye, remenber that! put it in a little box in your mind for further use. It's the same as when actor say the look at things from their past to give to a piece of acting, so save that eye reflection for another painting then another, until it become second nature to draw it. Great work.

With all do respect to any other opinions about this....I feel that the way his eyes are focused give him a saintly look,and after all this guy has died at the incredibly young age of 28...so if he was looking down it would almost add to a sad reflective look,as opposed to the way you have them set...but this is just my opinion Kira.I think it is a fine drawing just PERFCT the way it is.Curiously how long did this take? I wish i could still draw this good!
