Thank you, glasses and reflection are a bit of a thing with me. I have many different techniques in getting the look that I am searching for. This painting I wanted to be similar to the Iconic one but brighter and more colourful. All art is about making you the viewer pleased in what you see. Colour tone and mix is what I was looking for so thanks for the feed back.
Thank you, no heavy black contrast but a colourful contrast. I love big I wish I could paint on a very large canvass the largest I've done is 1 metre X 2 metres I would like to paint a Wall or a Fresco.
Thank you, a happy accident about 4 months ago I noticed the new scanner I was using made one particular orange I have look luminous, so I use it now for contrast without black also I have a green, yellow and red that it has the same effect on. The watercolour portrait is more detailed, but not quite as stand out as the web one, but if I shine a light on it then it has the same effect. Secrets all my secrets just given away.
Good work; I love the fact that, even though you didn't paint his entire face and it's an unusual perspective, you can immediately see it's Jean Reno. Must be his nose.
Thank you, Well I would love to say I took the original photo for my work, but I can not be dishonest it is an Iconic photo. But what I did do with my pastiche was to alter the colours, head position, glasses reflection and the buildings. The reason for you recognition its probably the original poster although my portrait is different in many ways. I have to make mine original as I dislike complete copies.
Thank you, The galsses are just a technique, I myself like the bit of the eye that shows, that gave me great satisfaction. Also the tone of the picture was what I tried to work on.
Wonderful, I like the details of the face, the beard, and especially the reflexion of the town in the spectacles, and the blue color which follows the face curves...
A great achievement, like your other works
Thank you, it seems so long ago since painted it, at the same time I was painting five others. I'm a bit of a Nut job I can't stop painting, I gives me such a buzz it's better than any drug. It's FUN, Fun fun and it's relaxing
