Thank you, well shades or tones is what watercolur should be about. 200 years ago when pupil learnt to be artists, they would paint tonal sketches to improve their skills, today many schools of art teach perhaps? drawing but not how to move from drawing to paint. I learnt this from my Curiosity when teaching myself.
I agree, no one told me that what I wanted to do was impossible. Last October I was going to go to evening classes to pick up a few tips so I went along to see the lecturer and he told me that i couldn't paint portraits in class as they had to follow a sylibus and portraits were in the last term. I didn't return all he seem interested in was landscape now my wife paints lovly landscapes and I have nothing agains't them but I like to be a free spirit on the night I visited I painted two painting admitted not completly but they were quite good and I wanted encouragement not school. Well that's bored you to sleep.
not at all, it's interesting to know the development of artist's art ! I've also wanted to go the drawing lessons but finally I prefered doing this by myself, seeing my own potraits is more enjoyable when I know I've not been helped (except by the site's atrists critics)
I hope I never Criticize as to offend, I try to help others, as I feel sometimes if I didn't, others would spend perhaps the same long boring hours trying to do things, but continuouslty failing.
Thank you when I was teaching myself first to paint I drew what ever I saw or took my interest when I came to paint I carried this can do way of painting as You know only paint things that interest me no matter what the person is supposed to be like. In this portrait his hair and eyes hooked me, I wanted to so he was a man with passions and not a spitting foul mouthed punk.
I love his hair, mind not on me!but it's good to paint. I'll settle for boring old white hair. On my photo I look bald my wife laughed her head of as I have a great head of white hair.
Thank you, Don't sound disapointed I don't put my failers on the site, I put them in the bin. This week has been a tough week for me, as I've not painted to a finish about 10 paintings and I have lots to caught up on, that teaches me to be ill.
I like this Brian! You know Johnny Rotten may come off as sarcastic and crazy but I think he may be really intelligent! It was always hilarious when he would hunker down and imitate the Hunchback of Notre Dame! Ha! Ha!
Thank you, no real view on him just painted him. He appeared on TV a little while ago after twenty years of being band for a bad language on a tea time programme. He seemed interesting and very ordinary.
