Very good, on the heads there's some excellent shading, but the background black is to black, although it has enhanced the White mask it should have lightened down the page to the same tone as the shadow. Also two lines of off white or grey on the shoulder above and between the lips and her hair line, showing body shape, would have made it excellent. On a portrait the background if in Black and sepia they should not be darker than the eye pupil or shadow, don't ask me why? I just know it, from experience. I could bull you and tell you is wonderful, but I'm honest. Your are very talented, I have no idea whether your starting or have drawn for a while, most of what I'm seeing are pose mistakes and colour tones. Sorry, if I'm being either boring or long winded by all means come and criticize me! if it makes you feel better, as I know I’m not perfect.
Thank you very much for your comments, and for the tip about the background colour. This was a present for my sister-in-law who is obsessed with musicals!
I have drawn since I was a kid but I don't do it very often, and most of the time I give them to people who don't draw and don't criticise! So thank you very much for your honesty, there's no point doing something if you don't do it to the best of your ability, right?
The only thing to say is that the values are a bit off as far as the background it could have been more toward the gray black in Christines hair. No need to define the shoulder the eye does that.
Very beautiful all around I loved the Phantom of the Operah and own the movie too!!!
