very good I thik with drawings because of the one colour the main focal point should be on light. Here with a more darker background on the right hand side it would allow more light to be able to be shown from the face. A little tip is that I cut out a shape of paper the same as the background and put different shades on it it then helps me decide on the background colour. I did this many times and now it becomes a part of my sight. I hope this little tip will help you. I'm not trying to be a bighead i just want to help. the last person I gave a tip to told me to get lost.
You definitely show signs of great talent now! Like all of us we need an honest advisor to tell us were or how to improve not teach some much as guide. Your drawing style is very fresh at the moment I will not be able to help with how and what you draw but once drawn I can help with small advise of ways to save work or on materials that help for example Graphite pencils are great and graphite block can help so much with large areas of shading. Also Graphite powder has many great effects. Putty rubber can be used not to just remove a line but to add a shade of it self say as a light line on the crease of a nose. Masking tape can be a wonderful help when trying to keep original white for shine and light. Good luck and if you want to know something no matter how silly I can tell you.
