Portrait de l'artiste brainfree(Royaume-Uni) Ajouté le 28 jan. 2009 à 19:35 Aquarelle
My Favourite Milla I did this for Que2creations to show it not impossible to paint a colour one and colour can lift a painting. Not a copy, a few twists in it from me.
Your watercolour portraits are all so great. I'd really like to try watercolour, too, but I'm way too busy with school at the moment. Hope I've got soon time to draw and paint again. So many ideas!
Remmenmber all work at school needs to have fun added you can quote me on that. In Britain we have a saying that 'all work makes Jack a dull boy' I bet your parent would rather you infront of a piece of paper drawing than out at parties mind I liked the parties best. I have a saying for parents mind it's 50 years since I used it 'Hard work equal good fun'. Mind it never worked. School and your future the best time of your life.
Thanks for liking Milla
Thank you, all little tricks and skills of watercolour they are to do with the light. For me I start with the background it will show mwe where the light is then I build my work from it. Light and dark the big secret of all art. Sometime nothing says everything.
The skin tone is gouache W/C paint or one part yellow, one part cadminm red to 4 parts white. I have never told anyone that mixture it took me 6 months of searching to find it..
Your opinion is the one that's the most important to me, all done with practice and patience. To draw it took the longest then to use the colour as an excerise in play and fun, then the bit of magic to make it completly and my work, it's not the same as yours, I would not do that to you, but yours did inspire me to have a go, So I should thank you.
Brian, Sometimes you apply too much liquid and the painting looks washed out or almost ghostly. This one is great! Please don't take offense.Just a little advice from a fellow artist!
Thank you Jeanette, I appreciate the thought, although for me it more about the fun of painting it, and I just love doing them wet. But for you, I will paint another of Barrack O.
Thank you, I'm glad you like it, done to show that colour can enhance a painting. I have to put a little area to catch you the viwers eye as your liking it is all I'm interested in, me I get the pleasure of painting it for you.
The photo is a great one it shows her in a classic position. She was a model, I tied to make the classic parts of the photo even better to make the light and dark nmore clearer and to make the face jump out at you. altough it is almost the same as the photo I cahnge the face angle and a small amout of where the light hit.
Beautiful picture!!! I love your play of light!!
Unfortunately I didn't write comments a lot of great portraits because I was busy... But I saw your pictures and I like them One of my favourite is Whoopi Goldberg
Thank you it's a famous black and white photo, which is incredible but I hope I lifted it above incredible. I must say that Que2creations first drawing was very good I put a little twist on it.
Thank you, it's all about light and the way I have used it in the face, in the right hand side and the eyes of course. balance of colour and a little dark to give contast.
Thank you, Magicical Hmm 'abra cadabra' nothing happen! it must be the skill and patience then, Mind sometimes when I paint, time goes by so quickly that can be magic. Also sometimes when I get a bit to un-interested I have a little rest and leave a painting for perhaps a week, then I go on doing other things, when I return it feels like magic.
I like your name and I've had a little look at your work they don't look amateur, I'm self taught and it's the best way it's slower not having advise or someone to help but interesting mind I would go to art school at the drop of a hat for the expeirance. Anyway I wount keep you any longer good luck, keep painting.
Ha ha, well I guess there is all sorts of magic. I'm glad you like my name it just seemed appropriate when I chose it. I don't have much experience and I'm far too self-conscious to consider my artwork professional or to make it my profession. I just do it for the fun of it. I haven't actually done much painting, color seems to be an entirely different playing field than ordinary pencil, I have a hard time with it.
Whether you consider your art work to be eithe amateur or Professional is the decsion of the viewer. Somewere along the line someone should have told you that drawing is astepping stone to colour and form mainly done through painting. It is great to become a n excellent drawer but can stop you developing. it's like a person who walks saying, they hate riding a bike because they get tired or fall off. When other say to them oneday you will paint with no problems they can not believe it. It's hard work, practice and most of all patience that gets you their at 20 or 60 years old oneday.
