again another gem of a piece Ali, loving the work in the hair and the gems....as good as it gets!...i'm striving to pu more detail into my pencils at the mo..is it drawn on bristol vellum?...what pencils u use on this? Thanks

Thanks! I just use cartridge paper and a grade B lead. Detail is a pain, I wish I could paint.

i just can't stress enough how well your detailing works...it may be time consuming but it 'makes' or breaks a piece.....the thing i love about your work is that you nail the amount of detail thats required in each....its a perfect balance....i love the way you focus out areas and, for example, this piece....the likeness is bang on the money but its the off centred composition and the detailing to other features other than the face that i love.....if u detail every piece i find it gets confusing...its like tone - cant be too dark or light....pictures for me are all about balance. i cant wait to finish a piece im workin on as a pencil to uplaod and u can give me tips!!....as for painting??...u just have to take to the brush. I find its a much more forgiving tool and a tool that you can complete lots of work with quickly..on the other hand it has made my pencil work a little more 'sloppy' because i know i can get away with murder and just paint over!!...lol....cant to that with 2b!!...
