he usually began with - that's nice...why don't you etc. etc. He WAS tough but then he was responsible for every students improvement, there were twelve of us and in retrospect, we all sucked.

I hope I wasn't too tough myself! I LIKED your paintings. :blowkiss:

Well, I guess "suck" is a relative term... but in the larger scheme of the art world, we did indeed. Everyone went on to a successful career in some form of commercial art or advertising...but remember, this was a painting class. It was evaluated on a professional level and any kind of hobbyist, calendar art or Sunday painter fare got crucified. If I gave you advice, I beg your pardon. I didn't mean to! If there was some help in there somewhere...you're more than welcome
