patience one more Sean Bond then Fry's Bar Bond ( George Lazenby) who was an Austrailia actor and Model. He went down hill after the first 10 seconds with the Classic line 'That didnt' happen to the other Bond' people just got up and walked out he was Ok a bit wooden and tried to be very English which Scottish Sean Connery did not. As for Emma Peel, she was a bigger star than him and very disapointed it was not Sean C. The cast was full of others who were bigger stars or old cast members, reminding us of the real Bond, the best hand over was for Daniel Graig who just became a 007 at the start of the film.
I know what you mean.Lazenby was slated for a costarring role with Bruce Lee but Lee died,in 73'.On Her Majesties was such a wellwritten film but with Connery it could have been so much more. The single greatest tragedyn in 007 films with the death of Bonds new bride...I never liked Pierce Bronsan as Bond and Craig is a breath of fresh air, this last film was bloodier than the others I suppose.
The principal of having different UK nationalities for the role would mean perhaps a welsh one next time the changing from one guy to another is not a difficulty any more. So Sean Scottish, Piers Irish the rest English and what's left a Welsh man. Rumoured was a Black Bond, a, American Bond or even a Croation but never a Welsh Bond I think they would have a Asian or a woman before one of us Welsh. I fact 40% of the police in London are Welsh. How about Ioan Gruffudd the bendy guy from Fantastic four.
Gruffudd,Mr Fantastic himself? Sure, why not,he is a well spoken classy guy,I could see that, good idea,I cannot see one of my own playing Bond,we cannot adopt a beautiful natuaral British accent the way a Welshman, irishman, could I suppose, one of the problems with my countrys filmmaking right now and the past 20 years is we have too many remakes of classic television and film,we had Samuel L Jackson redo Shaft,Miami Vice,Starsky and Hutch, all of them dissapointments, ironically Cubby Brocoli who started making the Bond films was American,I just felt that Pierce Bronsan was too much like the televison character he played Remington Steele.
The Welsh are mimic's we can do any accent. This is why we make good actors. There are american I can see as Bond but they must be able to play a English Gent after all. I would nevers say a English guy could play some american roles. Remakes are good as long as they are done properly with the replacements not being the originals.
I would like to think that I am a style of my own but I'm probably just a little bit of an impressionist. Your English is better than my Welsh, I'm Welsh
