Excellent, for your first, it's very good. A technique to learn for tonal work or one colour pieces, is the use of 'dirty water' for facial shadow, the same as shading in drawing. All dirty water comes from having two wash out cups for cleaning your brushes. They are one cup for black, dark blue and dark brown and one cup for light colours. The dark colour one, then can be used for the shading marks in the face. I have one with watery blue acrylic this is what I use before painting multi colour. ones. I hope this start will encourage you to do more play with the skills before doing them on a piece of scrap W/C paper.
