Inaz Phillipp Semmelweis the father of antiseptics. Fought for cleanliness in the 1800s which lead to the germ theory. He saved many lives of women and children who would have otherwise died of child bed fever.
Oh thanks this is a big one 24x18 very hard to scan had to work at getting it on this page. Lots of scan and rescanning this is not anywhere near the quality of the original though!!!

Yes he saved a lot of lives in the 1800s and he died a horible death in an insane alylumn. I think he truly was a man before his time such a bad rap he got in this life!!!
The tributes will all be in black and white but I will try to do a few colored pencil ones for a future page for you Jeanette thanks for thinking of me dear friend!!!!!!
It took longer to blend this after ten scans of the work 18x24 and trying to get this to go together for a photo merge. I sure wish I had the money for a large scale scanner but they run about 5 thousand dollars. Can't see spending that kind of cash and then finding out that I may have to get an all together new computer to run the software. I have a lot of files in this computer and I am afraid I couldn't get the new scanner to be compatable with the old system.
I understand,that is rough...18x24 is a fine paper size,I need to buy some,my stuff is rather small I am afraid with 8x10,and 11x14.however I do use 16x20 panels sometimes.
Yes I love to work big. I think I get a better likeness when the portraits are near life size. I do sculpture too so it is more natural for me to work huge!!!!!
Wow,would love to see some of your sculpture Christine,I have a friend who paints on old doors,he does lifesize figures and his wife sometimes wakes up scared because they are all over the house and I suppose in the dark they look real,He likes to paint tribal warrior figures...
Hi Chris don't do much of that anymore. Now that my hands are defunked. So I guess the few pieces you see on my web site should let you know that I did mainly a head hand and foot. Wanted to do a full figure like your friend but never got around to it.
Hi Chrisitine,I have a Chinese restaraunt here in my town called Kings Wok,I am going to do a full size bruce Lee for the owner there this summer,he is a big hero of mine,it is gonna be a gift for them,although if they give me free egg rolls I would be happy!
I am so familiar with this man of medicine and biology. I saw a TV serial about him. He saved lives of many mothers. Your portrait is a great tribute of him! Bravo Christine.
Dear dear Shahin, I read a novel about him in high school and could never forget his wonderful life. I am greatly affected by this mans importance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jeanz I am happy you like my tribute to Inaz he was a wonderful doctor who saved a lot of mothers and new born infants. I read a book about him and always admired him so much. Look at the other tributes I made these are quite large it took about ten scans and a lot of work to join them with photo shop create a photo merge.
