Thank you, I drew most of this batch a week ago and I have what I think is some of my best work coming up, they seem to have just flowed. I had a little slow down last week but I seem to be back to five a day now. Tommorow I'm going to a art class as a pupil. so I'm getting my stuff ready. Next week I'm holding a teaching session with youngster teaching them to draw better and paint so both ends of the brush. :8)

 karenclark - 04/03/09 à 13:31 répondre
Your welcome. Your news are just as great as your others. What will you be learnng? That is wonderful. It's great for kids to get started in art. The sooner he better. I have started a watercolor on one of my favorite persons. If I may ask. How big are your portraits? :)

 brainfree - 04/03/09 à 18:01 répondre
I have no idea my friend taking me, he’s being a bit secretive about the format, I'm like a new boy, all what shall I take? Pencils, brushes, travel watercolours or what. He wants me to take some of my work and I have no idea how to pick them, for me or for them, as my taste is all Sc/Fi but them I have no idea. :8)

 brainfree - 04/03/09 à 18:02 répondre
For the youngsters I have done it before, it's a bit of a format:- a Still life, I always pick a bottle and an apple. I do a game of putting them into fours and have the draw them selves then the person opposite. Finally, they paint a formatted watercolour painting. I will help them, with showing washes and then outline. All my efforts will be to make the drawings quick and the paintings colourful, but showing them background and framing. It sound a lot but its one two hour then three one hour sessions. My portraits are this year because of the size of my scanner they are A4 but my work previous and for two months will be A3 and larger this is why I'm having a rest at a 1000. :8)

 karenclark - 04/03/09 à 18:11 répondre
Great idea for them. And that you teach them framing, also. I bet the kids learn alot and rnjoy the sepects of watercolor. So like 8 1/2 x 11. I thought they were bigger. But I know certain scanners can only accomidare certain sizes. Sometimes for lartger portraits. i usually scan in halfs and patch together.

 brainfree - 04/03/09 à 20:46 répondre
Mine does a little bigger to, but if I'm buying in bulk the watercolour paper I have to settle for what I get. :8)

 karenclark - 05/03/09 à 18:34 répondre

 karenclark - 04/03/09 à 18:05 répondre

It's early days and they have a competition for each term it's painting flowers Hmmm and you get another 3months to do it, I said How many do you want by next week so much time I'm hoping it will help me with my patience . I took along about 20 of my portraits and instantly they want to known if I sold them also I turned you a few noses when I said I di two a day if they only knew how many I really did they would not talk to me. All I can say is I loved it the interaction between others I listened to every word but spoke when asked as I did not want to seen unfriendly. They also have a gallery for the other students to see work that had been done they all are very good I will need to be on my metal to gain respect and not seem big headed. It has a small cost but so small it's a box of matches in cost. They were reframing a painting for someone and gave her a bran new frame, very generously. All together I was not the oldest or the youngest. There is not teacher it more like a club. :8
