Excellent, for me, which is not a critisum but a oberservation your drawing is very good but needs more light. A very good drawing but the but slightly over shaded with more light or no drawing the face could have been brought to life. Saying all that it is an excellent likeness I am self taught or taught by trial and error as I call it small suggestions as we learn fro say a teacher or fellow artist tends to help. I have devleoped a style f painting with water colour ove the last few years but I took to long to move on to paint. Painting is easier and more difficult at the same time I drew for many years but would never go back now. You are at that stage of drawing and tonal work either a move to pastel or paint. Please take my words as good advise, I wish someone had told me 30 years ago about paint. If you want a guide down the road of paint I'm happy to help.

Very beautiful portrait ! All my congratulations ! I remember him in "DELIVERANCE".

Thank you! I remember that movie too! I think the "squeal like a pig!" line etched its self into my brain. I only saw the movie once or twice about 20 years ago as a young teen, but I can always remember that horrid line! I love Voight though, always had a soft spot for him an I'd watch him in anything!

It's a very hard movie, but it's good. It could happen everywhere, anytime ! I will try someday to stipple three of your famous australian actors : Mel GIBSON, Paul HOGAN and Russell CROWE. Have a good day.

Yes it is hard movie, but your right, a great movie, wih a very good lesson to learn! Lucky I have my bodyGuards!! Ha! Have you seen my latest work! They're in that with me! It was a bit of fun! I'm going to try to one day to get through all the oz actors, I got stuck at Geoffrey Rush though an I haven't ventured any further with them. I would like to draw one of Steve Irwin one day too! Your really do have a wonderful gallery too! I shall have to work hard to get through as many faces as you! It's truly an amzing array of personalities you have drawn. By the way, I'd love to know what type of technique you use. Is it lots of little dots? It looks amazing!

Thank you so much ! It would be too long if I explain you my technique, and my english is not so good. But, if you want, you can see the evolution of one of my portrait on my website. I don't know how you call the type of ink I use "Indian ink" or "drawing ink" ? In England, it's Indian ink, and I stipple with it, during hours and hours (but the first stage is the drawing). I just see the word "dots" in a dictionary, yes of course, there are thousand of "dots" (I call it points, but it's the same thing, isn't it ?). I realise a portrait in 30 or 40 hours. That depends. Bye Bye !

I shall go and have a look at your site too! yes, I believe ponts and dots, would translate the same too. This Jon voight drawing took me about that lokg too. It usually takes anywhere from 25 to 350hrs. The big ones that I draw over a meter take 350 hours. Thank you so much for sharing!

You spent 350 hours to draw a picture ? It was a portrait ? I would like to see it.

I cannot show you this one, unfortunately. It's over 1.8meters in height, a portrait of myself. I cannot photograph it to a standard that I'm happy with to show it yet, however I am thinking about getting it professional shot so I can have it on display too. But this is abit expensive an we're taking our kids away on a holiday, so my play money is spent up at the moment! When I get it done i will let you know!
