I like very much the style of the background, suggesting a kind of chaos, in contrast with the gorgeous Lauren's face... Really beautiful & original!

I had to come up with something. When I scan my portraits they are about either 11x14 or 14x17 inches so they are big. The backgrounds get muddy and funny looking so I started to blend them and work with them through Photo shop 2. I try to get rid of the imperfections of the scans coming together by this method. When drawing them I use a rag and graphite powder. It is very subtle shading and it works well with the eraser too. Try it it is fun to do almost a finger painting technique.
