Thank you, I put these on as simple ways you can see the way I work. It's not magic but a formula or menue first a good drawing not a portrait but a road map. Then apply shadow either in light blue or light purple this fills the areas of shade like in drawing. I prefer the lips here and not my finished lips here I kept them simple the finished ones went away a bit. The paynes grey on the hair gives a base and if the black shows the under neath colour it's just shade. My passing remark is about light and shade not with this one but with many I have done it to can make or break a portrait. Here the hair is the background and pulls out the light in the face.
