A series of 3 Shia LaBeouf 's from 'Transformers' Film. He transforms from Drawing idea to coloured pencil then Paint. all original no photo the drawing is not a artistic drawing but an idea after watching the film and the progression from pencil to paint.
amazing....this is one of your bests......
great work.....loved this one.....great detailing around the forehead and the wonds look so real how did you make them?.
Thank you, the wounds are just paint, remember Edgar Degas he said 'art is not what you see, but what you make others see'! Simple things, like a little paint, makes your mind see what is not there. That is the skill, no photo just sketches and observation of colours, remember this is the final artist stage, understanding the mind of the observer. It looks like a wound so is bound to be a wound. Brian
Thank you, Yes It was a difficult face to draw to capture the likeness. There again for me is was just another drawing. My drawing pencil skills are not now as good, as my painting skill for drawing. First I imagine a grid on the face, when I started drawing, I would lightly draw it, the grid. Then set out a simple outline make all the face features in proportion. Look for any tells ( things that show of on the face:- with Shia it was the eyebrows and eyes ) they are the likeness things the eyes or lips how they sit in respect to each other. Then where I will put the shadow, how does the light fall, finally what can I leave out the impressionist.
I was taught these things many years ago by my art teacher (Mr. Redwood) at your age but only now, over the last 10 years have they worked for me. I hope my words can help you.
Thank you, the most satisfying thing is it's all mine original. I did the three because I wanted to show first that watercolour is best and that I am a better painter than pencil drawer. My skills of drawing are different now! more geared to showing the paint areas, not detail that I do with the paint.

Wow, Super cool!!!! Oh, by the way, just saw Duffy perform in front of 17000 people. Her voice is unbelievable. how cute that she was a little bit shy when she came to the stage! Just amazing!
Thank you, I've seen her about four times. One of which was about 60 people and she was great I call her my welsh song bird, If you get near enough say to her carryadd that's Welsh for darling or beloved, it not spell the welsh way but it is an easy way to say it in English Carryadd I feel abit low I will have a look through my stock of half finished Duffy's for one more to finish. Brian
Thank you, the three is to show how from a poor drawing with not a lot of detail you can progress to a watercolour colour study then a painting. I can paint completly from blank paper or do preparation work like a drawing or colour study. Many different ways of paint all for the indiviual mind. Brian
Thank you, but not a step by step more three different drawings or paintings. My idea was to show how from a poor drawing, that contains the basiocs, you can progress to a painting and the painting can be a little better. I think I did not take enough time. I did the drawing after the film. I watched it again then the colour study of the watercolour pencils then the painting. Brian
Thank you, reflection is a funny thing I have 5 photo's of him two green two blue and one grey. The eye colour changes according to the sky, lighting or building colour. I will alter it on any future paintings but I can't alter it here. The light and dark is what the painting is about, if you study the hair, eyebrow and neck they have a bluey tint I think this is also why the eye is blue, from blue light it light's up the background as well.
