Thank you kindly Merleen! I appreciate your beautiful compliments. This portrait started out with colored pencils but I had to do it with acrylics. It took me all day yesterday to get it right.
"Leave me ... I want to be alone" - I could empathise with this amazing Scandanavian (??) beauty ... the wistful gaze you have captured here says just that. Thank you for giving me my daily dose of exuberance lovely Jeanette ... have a good one! (in the words of my ex-husband who is still one of my best friends) ...
Hi Jeanz, Why would a beautiful, famous celebrity such as Greta leave show business and become a recluse ?? She never married or had children and I felt like that was a wasted life. You would think she would want a little attention or companionship after doing movies. right?? So sad!!
Ai my friend ... I can totally understand why such a beautiful woman turned into a recluse. Sometimes one has to drop the outer beauty and look deep within for some inner beauty and to do that they have to cast the rest of the world aside. Sometimes the world damages you so badly that you have to hide away from all that hurt and humiliation. Even a life spent alone is not an empty life ... it is just filled with other things - we all have our purpose in life and spending it alone doesn't make it wasted. Gosh, I'm in a very pensive mood today - I should go an draw right now! I think Greta got all the attention she could take. Love you Jeanette, KEEP SMILING
Gosh ... I think you'd find my life very strange indeed as well then. I used to be co-dependent and needed other people to complete me. I got hurt one time too many (they say that God only gives you as much hurt as you can handle - but that's not true). Somehow I found it was easier to hide away from the rest of the world where I could fathom out exactly why my life turned out the way it did. It's easier to work it out from the inside than on the outside, and to do that one needs to seek seclusion. Maybe that's the way she was too. The saddest thing I suppose is that she never re-emerged back into society. A true enigma. What can hurt someone so badly that they don't want to be a part of the world anymore??? ... oh no the weekend has finished ... back to work tomorrow GROAN! ...
I understand what you mean, that sometimes everyone needs to be alone, but to isolate yourself from the world like Greta did is so sad and it's not good for you. Keep smiling my friend, Jeanz.
It's not natural either. You don't see animals living on their lonesome - and nature lives without a mask. It's through nature that we experience the joy with which life was intended to be lived. But nature can seem to be cruel as well ... mmm, enough of Greta! I'm going to look for another one of your beautiful creations. Have a wonderful day my dear friend, Jeanette xxx
