A very nice John, John ... he is my favourite singer - I especially loved "Mother", "Imagine" and "Working Class Hero". I don't like K - I think he's obtrusive and demeaning. (sometimes I think it's just as well they only have a smiley with a thumb, if they had one with a finger ...
)
Thank you dearie! I like Lennon too - w/o him the Beatles would have been - Wings! K's just kidding. He likes my stuff and pays on time - as long as he gets the family discount. Those Smiley's are pretty abstract. Who can say which digit that is???
... you do make me laugh. Mmmmm ... nah - definitely a thumb - actually come to think it - is it even a hand????? I think K's onto a good wicket here ... just tell him not to be so picky! I think this Lennon is superb.
I'm so glad. And thanks for approving poor rejected JL. I knew it wasn't gonna fly. AND...if it isn't a hand, whatever COULD it be Jeanz? It says it's a "thumb-up." So now the question is what???
hi Biggs! I DO love comics! & had a strip in an 'underground' paper for a while back when the earth was young but I really don't draw well enough to be that spontaneous and as to fashion I had to do spot illustrations for a shoe company for a while and I sucked at it - mightily! I saw a big stack of that stuff in an old portfolio recently and carried it all to the dumpster in the middle of the night!! BUT thanks for your generous approval
gees, why do i not believe a word you say about:"sucking at it..." i find that very hard to believe! so i can picture you, dressed up in that long black coat, the hat pulled low over the head and armed with your valuable "sucked" art pieces under the arm, slipping out at midnight, walking down the empty street.... hhooooo spooky! WAAAAA i am getting scared!!! i'm running back into the house!
It was my fashion illustrations that were truly spooky! My comic strip was not so bad. I think you joined here after Deberg left. He was a pro comic book dude - very capable with about 8 or 10 techniques. So good. He was the 'favorite' artists of more people than anyone for good reason.
Don't be scared! At this distance, I'm quite harmless.
i don't believe you! i am not convinced, i know your drawings and i find them AMAZING! Oh yes, i remember Deberg... but he never commented on my portraits and i left him alone too... i don't have to be scared of you?.... just say BOO and you'll see me running for the hills!
You are kind tooooooo how do they say?: it takes one to find one... Deberg, ok gossip, the reason why i kept my distance, was there was a sort of "fighting"going on between him and another artist i have been friends with from the beginning, i just heard all the stories, but i stayed out of it, had nothing to do with me, so i kept my trap shut... the best way to win a fight is to prevent one, hey
I was oblivious - heard only sketchy, unspecific accounts - still don't really know who, what, where, when or WHY. Although, I do have some limited powers of ratiocination and have to believe that more talent left than stayed! Oh, now see.....I shouldn't have said THAT! You may now wish to disavow any knowledge of or acquaintance with blah blah blah.
NEVER, i love chatting with you and from my side, we're cool! You have already entered "Biggsy's safe zone" so you can tell me anything if you want ofcourse that is! Well maybe not EVERYTHING others can read english too..
cool .... so happy to be 'in the zone' and yes, the French, Italian, German, Russian, Spanish, Portugese, Peruvian, Brazilian, Swiss, Turkish, Iranian, Mexican, Indian and ALL others know considerably more of what we say than vice versa - oh yeah! that there is so Latin!
many here seem quite conversant in many tongues - I don't mind studying but wouldn't it be more fun to travel! We could be like Jeanz and learn by osmosis.
that i haven't heard before, learn by osmosis! i am lucky, i have seen many beautiful countries in my lifetime till now... but i still want to visit USA, Caribbean, Russia in WINTER!! brrrrrr... and i have made a promise to myself, my 50th birthday in Sydney Australia! I was in Buenos Aires for my 40th and it was AMAZING!!!!
Wow! Look at all the comments on my little drawings! Oh, it's all chat. Almost got a false sense of something there for a minute. I'm better now. Love to see Russia, Japan, Peru, - in the Caribbean, I sneezed as I exited a tourist trap and was immediately surrounded by 4 dealers! 'Hey mon, I fix you up reeel good. No prob-LEMM! ' Biggsy the Globetrotter!
Maestro, you prefer more comments? i can give you more! But i don't want to overdo it... You might get the wrong idea!
The East.... yeah Japan, but i would prefer Okinawa, with a martial art master who can teach me to use some samurai and shuriken tricks... so i have to remember not to sneeze in the Caribbean... HA-HA-HA-tissue!!!
Now, this is weird. Yesterday I told you I had set aside a reference photo to do Beatles figures. But you beat me to it with yours BUT , on checking this morning I find it is an identical photo to the one you used!!! So I would look a right jerk if I was to work on it!! No Way, Pedro.
Still I think it strange ,us sharing the same reference at the same time. Still maybe there are not that many Beatles photos about????????
It IS kinda - yet - happens all the time - My inspiration was pretty pedestrian - the new isue of Rolling Stone arrived in the mail. Draw 'em anyway Mr. Heyburn, I'll happily play second fiddle. I did the other two as well - takes me longer to scan 'em and post 'em than to draw 'em
And my inspiration was the cover of a local T.V. listings magazine!! I wouldn't think of drawing them at present, so I'm going to post some oldies. All the best, John
