I dunno Andrea. I think she's working on the Peace Prize. I understand that back in the day, George and Paul were mean to her & that broke up the group. I never really understood her music or her art but I liked her quote about Dancing through life. Are you going to draw us a picture of Yoko?
Oh my god, no....I don't like her so I don't like to draw her....but I think, John and she weren't inseparably at the end and that was one reason for broke up the band too.
...they (JL & YO)were on cloud nine - total bliss - for several years after the break-up - right up to the Dakota assassination - but you were 5 years old
Hi Sellia! thank you very kindly there ARE a lot of 'tributes' here - I always ask myself 'would the family really want THIS??' and for my work, must overwhelmingly say, 'I don't think so!' I was actually thinking here of The Dakota and the little weasel Hinkley who carried a copy of 'The Catcher in the Rye.' But ... you're a sweetheart and thanks again! sorry to burden you with all my english
You did not burden me at all my dear John. And I think your are right. I used the word "tribute" because I did not try to find another better. I would like to tell it's an original and really personnal work. That's why I appreciate it much.
Hiya Jeanz! If I see a grizzly, I sincerely hope I'm shiftin' the ol' Land Rover into top gear and cockin' the Smith & Wesson!
But I DO thank you earnestly & JBK is almost Never satisfied. since he often makes it better and pays for revisions ... (but not Beatles) right on brother!!
You drive a Landie? - I'm gobsmacked! I thought you Americans weren't into British Leyland . The only thing that will beat four aces is a Smith & Wesson, but I'm betting on the grizzly here.
Nah. I was lyin'. It's my buddiy's Landie. I do have an old IH Scout for 4-wheel needs and I love Morgans and old MGs. Most Americans seem to favor Hondas & Toyotas lately but I prefer Daimler-Benz & Porsche. Grizzlies are always a good bet.
There's so much 4-wheel driving to be undertaken in this country. We have the highest dune in the world in Namibia - no-one's 4-wheeled up it though, I don't think. It's a real schlepp to climb to the top. This is definite Toyota country - even I have two (a really old Conquest 160i that I use to drive around for work purposes - don't have any worries about it getting bumped - and a brand, spanking new Yaris - which is tucked away neatly where it can't be scratched, or even touched! - and there it's going to stay ) No bakkies - oh sorry, I forgot - you don't speak Namlish - trucks though - too unfeminine. Rich taste in wheels - you're a snob John! We only get Mercedes-Benz here. My house is more important to me than my wheels! Here we wrestle with lions and keep as far away from elephants as we possibly can - no bears!
I am NOT a snob! I'm a slob.
I drove Porsches for years because you can sell them for lots when they're old and I understand old very well!! Lion wrestler eh?
Who's to say he who is not a snob is a slob?!?! ... Toyota also has great 2nd-hand value ... My Conquest is ANTIQUE ... so I guess I'm one up on you. I started off mud wrestling , but being the adrenaline junkie I am I soon moved onto lions
jeanz no like wrestle lions ... Tarzan wash car and wrestle lion same time ... jeanz look on and laugh:'D:'D:'D ... car never muddy, jeanz see to that ... Windhoek concrete jungle - no trees - no rain, no water - no mud - just dust!!! - Lions in Etosha - eat big brave sleeping German tourist - jeanz wish Tarzan luck!
I had that awful "oh no" moment a milli-second after I hit the enter key ... you know that excruciatingly painful instant when panic attacks you and you try desperately hard to reverse everything that just happened ... and wipe it all out ... and try as hard as you may, even if you rip out the enter key that data's not going to come back to you? ... maybe I shouldn't have sent my last reply. Sorry. I was having so much fun, but it kinda got out of hand, hey? Good night John, I'm going to sleep now. I love your creations, you're a very special person with a very special talent and a great demeanour. You're wonderful fun. I'm going to call it a night. I'll draw tomorrow.
Not just 'not to worry' - but 'never to worry' & even "What? Me Worry?" A very old and good stoner friend of mine from bygone days when men were free and the earth was young, useta say: "Worry is interest paid on trouble before it comes due." Then Granny & Jed & Jethro & Ellie May would come load him into the truck and take him away.
At other times, when reaching his farthest outpost, he would melt into my biggest big-leather-chair with a smile on his face & without a bone in his body. My best girl walked by and wryly opined: "Look at him. That's proof that this stuff will NOT kill you."
hi bro, just read that you like Porsche... i have one in my garage, its an old one... 928GT... blue... and i love driving it... BUT it belongs to my brother
Now you have my full attention, WHICH Porsches have you owned??? Boy would i love foto's! If i had the money, i would have to have a garage for about 15 Porsches... my favs are the old 911 WITH a whale fin... and i also like the brand new Cayman.... nifty...
1st a 1969 model 914-6 - signal orange
(= cadmium yellow dark) only 50-200 of these rare 6 cylinder jobs were imported into the states - 3 two-barrel carbs - ate 'Vettes for breakfast - 0-60 - 5.0 secs. - tops @ 142 mph - sold in '76 with 88,000 mi. for 125% of original purchase price then a relatively pedestrian 911T (no whale tail) from '76 - '88 - "There IS no substitute." Tom Cruise Risky Business
giggle did your 914 have a name? ORANGE.. not my fav color... but heck, if its a Porsche, who cares!! right! My heart bled in the Bad Boys movie when they wrecked Will Smiths beautiful black Porsche... urgh
hhhooooray Detective Columbo!! Thank you immensely for noticing!!! It's only 2" x 2.875" & when I looked at the enlargement, I thought: "Hell, though sketchy, this is almost as good as the photo! I'm gonna post it too." I pushed the color balance around, added a transparent skin tone overlay on the face and vignetted the thing to form an oval - so - now, it looks good printed giclee at 8 x 10"
Hey Columbo! Thanks so much but, I'm not really. Not at all. I've learned what-ever from the drop down menus but it's a thimbleful. Shahin is helping me out with a commercial project and speaks of such things as Adobe Fractal Pro and I must go find out what the #@!! that IS!!!
Pat yourself on the back (easier said) for the thimbleful, some of us pick up squat. !! I think you are entering a whole new world there with Adobe Fractal etc., My biggest problem with it all is the new words in computer speak. Every day , another new word. What's wrong with the old ones, I would have thought there were enough of them!!
I've asked people who earn HUGE fees fixing big networks etc,: "Can you tell me what a 'bus error' is? No? 'Standard baseline?' No? PHP?id? No? What did the Router say to the Modem? No? Whaddya mean that's classified? (It was a dirty joke and I didn't even know it.)
The only one of those I recognise is the bus error. Thought you would know John. That's when you are left waiting at the bus-stop. And possibly includes three buses comming at once but not at a designated time. Happy to help
