you are very talented in drawing, sculpture, I love intensely, a great artist, that I love a lot, congratulations for your extraordinary sculpture, I like it a lot, I embrace you very strong my great friend and beautiful Christine
Thank you it was fun taking a lot of art courses. I took black and white design color design painting and about seven drawing courses and of course the sculpture and the life drawing class too. I must have the equivalent of a bachelor degree in art all this was taken through the years and I miss classes but when I retire if I retire I would like to take more workshops sometime it is fun to be with other artists to share and learn from each other so happy we have this nice web site to do just that.
Oh Chantal you should try some it is so nice to take our gift to the third demension. Such a rewarding experience. Much fun and such a great challenge. You will be grateful that you did. I only took one class but it is something I will never forget I love it a lot!!
I have a childhood friend who is a professor of sculpture. He always wonder when will I come to her classes ... I have more time to draw ... then sculpt ...
I certainly hope you get the time to do some sculpture. You really should try to it is such a great challenge and so much can be learned about structure by doing the three dimensional pieces!!
Oh yes lots of fun with all mediums I am thrilled that this one was so much fun. We displayed it at work and I used a witches hat and small broom and several employees added ear plugs to her for a joke. We work in a very loud factory and it all was great fun!!!
I love to sculpt and this set was used at our Halloween display with a witches hat and a small broom and I also had on old cape we placed it on the table of the lunch room we all had fun with it and some of the people I work the factory with put ear plugs in her ears!!!
I like working in clay the head is human size and is very heavy like a cannon ball if any one trys to break into my house they will be crowned with poor Margaret!!!
At first I thought, 'Who is Margaret Hamilton' and then it hit me. Very good, Christine. Do you know when I first saw that movie (Wizard of OZ) with my mother, I was only 8 years old. When the Wicked Witch appeared, I got out of my seat and ran up the theater aisle. My mother had to run after me and bring me back. I don't know how she persuaded me to stay until the movie ended, but she succeeded. Years later I had to do some fancy talking to a grandson, to convince him the witch wasn't real. After that he loved the movie, so I gave it to him.
I am glad you made the connection to my wicked witch. This has a story behind it. At Halloween one year I brought her into the lunch room for a display. I placed a witches hat on her and had a little cape from one of the kids halloween costumes another friend of mine had a small old fashioned broom and we made a cute display on the lunchroom table. One of the fellows put ear plugs into her ears and someone stuffed cereal into her nose. We certainly had fun with poor Margaret. Great fun with that one. Anyway I told everyone I was confident that if a burgler came into my house I would crown them with Margaret and they would be surprised. She is very heavy. Like a cannon ball!!!
Interesting story, Christine. I have a witch's outfit that I used to dress up in on Halloween. Pointed black hat, with black spider dangling from brim, red & white striped socks, beaked nose with wart on it that I glued to my face, long black dress, black wig, etc. Had a lot of fun with it.
So happy you liked my sculpture it is a totally new experience and a very rewarding one I might add. You should try it sometime it is so much fun to work in three dimension with clay.
