Craig David est originaire de Southampton, où il a grandi avec ses parents. "Fill Me In", son premier grand single, sort au début de l'année 2000, se plaçant dans les meilleurs titres joués en club. "Born To Do It", l'album, suit immédiatement. En 2002, Craig publie son second opus, "Slicker Than Your Average", dont le single "Rise and Fall", en duo avec Sting est très remarqué. Après trois ans d'absence, Craig David livre "The Story Goes", son troisième CD, en août 2005. Pour cette production, le chanteur a une nouvelle fois travaillé avec son complice Mark Hill. Le premier single extrait s'intitule "All the Way".
